Summary: The California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) is a comprehensive, youth risk behavior and resilience data collection service available to California Local Education Agencies (LEA). The CHKS provides data to identify the needs of youth (grades 5, 7, 9 & 11). The data collection results generated by WestEd will guide us as a District in meeting those identified student needs in the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The CHKS consists of a modular survey instrument that is customized to the Beaumont Unified School District.
Fiscal Impact/Source: $5004.90 Tobacco-Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Grant
Recommendation: The administration recommends the Board of Trustees of the Beaumont Unified School District approve a Memorandum of Understanding with WestEd to provide data collection services in the administration of the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) for the 2019-20 school year.
